It’s Time to Seek the Lord!
God loves people who have failed and sinned. He doesn’t want to ‘finish us off’ because we’ve done wrong, but he wants to restore us. The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11-14 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, says the LORD…” He tells us that if we diligently seek Him, He will be found of us. James 4: 8 says “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” NIV
Over the years I’ve often asked people this question: “Have you ever had an experience in your life when you felt like God was trying to get your attention?” So many people have responded with a dramatic story or a near-death experience when they felt that God was urgently calling them to get closer to Him. God desires for all of us to come to Him. That’s why He came to the earth and gave His life. In John 12:32 it says, “And when I am lifted up [on the cross], I will draw everyone to me.”TLB
Don’t Turn A Deaf Ear
When you sense that God is trying to get your attention, or is ‘drawing you’- respond by saying ‘yes’ to Him. Welcome Him as a friend. He wants to come to your life and bring more blessing and fulfillment than you could ever imagine. So, when you hear His voice, don’t turn a deaf ear, shut Him out or harden your heart. Instead, respond with openness to the One who loves and cares for you. He wants to be your best friend. He wants to bless your life with a future and a hope. He wants to draw you closer to Him. It’s time to seek the Lord and experience the joy of His Presence!
