Why do stars seem to twinkle?

Stars seem to ‘twinkle’ because we are viewing them through thick layers of turbulent air in the Earth’s atmosphere. As their light travels through the atmosphere, the light of the star is bent many times and in random directions. Our eye interprets this as twinkling.

* Ps 148:3 “Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars.”

* Ps. 8:3 “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?”

* Jeremiah 31:35 “…he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night…the LORD Almighty is his name!”

God made these stars with His own hands. And then to increase their beauty He caused them to twinkle like diamonds in the sky!

How awesome is our God!
