Heb. 9:27

Hebrews 9:27 says that “it is appointed unto men to die once, and after that the judgment.” This week the brother of a young man in our congregation was buried. He was still very young (in his early 30’s). He had been battling with cancer. Within the last few weeks one of our pastors was able to visit him in his home, and pray with him to receive the Lord. I’m thankful for the wonderful hope and assurance of eternal life that we find in Scripture, for those who sincerely receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior by faith. What a comfort!

None of us know how long we have to live. Some live longer. Others have a shorter life span. Our times are in the hands of the Lord. May we all redeem the time, and while we still have breath in our bodies, invest our lives wisely. At best, life is short. Life is very precious. We don’t want to waste any of it, but use it faithfully to serve the Lord, and glorify Him.
