JESUS IS WORTHY OF WORSHIP! Part 2

REVELATION 4:11 “YOU ARE WORTHY, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You CREATED all things, and by Your will (for your pleasure) they exist and were created.”

WORTHY IS THE LAMB!

• Revelation 5:12 “WORTHY is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
• REVELATION 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and TO THE LAMB, forever and ever!”
• REVELATION 5:14 Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and WORSHIPED Him who lives forever and ever.

LOVING THE LORD

• Those who truly love the Lord are delighted to WORSHIP HIM & give Him praise!
• HEBREWS 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
• Psalm 138:1 I will praise You with my WHOLE HEART;… I will worship… And praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth;…
• Jeremiah 29:13 And you shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with ALL YOUR HEART.

I CHRONICLES 16:29

• WORSHIP WITH OFFERINGS Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: BRING AN OFFERING, AND COME BEFORE HIM: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

COSTLY SACRIFICES

• 2 Samuel 24:24 …neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing.

A RADICAL MINDSET CHANGE

• NOT THE LEAST WE CAN DO & GET BY… (lukewarm, uncaring, lazy)
• WHAT IS THE MOST WE ARE ABLE TO DO… (BE hot, zealous, committed) –  …in work, giving, loving, sacrifices…

GIVING BACK

• We are so-o blessed! Praise God for all of His wonderful blessings! He daily loads us with blessings and benefits! How can we show Him our eternal gratefulness and thanksgiving?
• Be TRUE WORSHIPERS, and give Him the praise and glory that He deserves!

WORSHIPERS

• John 4:23,24 – But the hour comes, and now is, when the TRUE WORSHIPPERS shall WORSHIP the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to WORSHIP HIM. God is a Spirit: and they that WORSHIP HIM must WORSHIP HIM in spirit and in truth.

ALL NATIONS WORSHIP

• Psalm 66:4 ALL THE EARTH (Nations) shall WORSHIP…
• Revelation 5:9 (new song) – you… have have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation…
• Revelation 7:9-12 (a great multitude which no man could number)… WORSHIPING and PRAISING God!

TRUE WORSHIP / FALSE WORSHIP

• What does the Bible have to say about TRUE WORSHIP?
• What does the Bible have to say about FALSE WORSHIP?

JOB

• Job 1:20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and WORSHIPED.
• JOB 1:21 And said… the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD… In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

INSIGHTS

• IN THE MIDST OF GREAT SUFFERING & TRAGEDY (His servants killed & livestock  taken, his sons and daughters died, wife mocking him, persecuted by his friends…) – what was his response to it all? HE WORSHIPED THE LORD! (He didn’t blame God for it!)
• JOB WORSHIPED IN THE MIDST OF HIS TEST & FIERY TRIAL OF FAITH!

JONAH

• Jonah 2 Vs 1 – Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly.
• Jonah 2:2 – And said, I cried by reason of my affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell I cried, and you heard my voice…
• Jonah 2:8-9 Those who regard  worthless idols (observe lying vanities) forsake their own mercy. ⁹ But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.”
• Jonah 2:9 – (TLB) – “I will never worship anyone but you! For HOW CAN I THANK YOU ENOUGH for all you have done? I will surely fulfill my promises. For my deliverance comes from the Lord alone.”
• Jonah 2:10 – And the Lord spoke unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

GIVING BACK TO THE LORD

• Psalm 116:12-14 (TPT) So now, what can I ever give back to God to repay him for the blessings he’s poured out on me?

PRAISE & WORSHIP

• Psalm 116:14 (Cont) I will lift up his cup of salvation and PRAISE HIM extravagantly for all that he’s done for me. ¹⁴ I will fulfill the promise I made to God in the presence of his gathered people.

DEDICATION OF SOLOMON’S TEMPLE

• “Praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever” – 2 Chronicles 5:11-14
• 2 CHRONICLES 5:11-14
  • Priests were PREPARED / sanctified (cleansed)
  • UNITED – singers & instrumentalists as one praising & thanking the Lord for His goodness & mercy.
  •  The GLORY OF GOD filled the house of God!
• WORSHIP IN THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS!
• UNITED WORSHIP!

I CHRONICLES 16:29 Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, WORSHIP THE LORD in the beauty of holiness!

DAVID – BEFORE THE ARK

• 2 Samuel 6
  • The ark in captivity
  • Bringing the ark back to Jerusalem
  • “they set the ark on a new cart”
  • Uzzah put his hand on it – he died
  • Ark at Obededom’s house – the Lord blessed his household

• 2 SAMUEL 6
• David brought the ark to Jerusalem with gladness
• With sacrifices
• With shouting & the sound of the trumpet
• With blessing – he blessed the people in the name of the Lord

• 2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the Lord WITH ALL HIS MIGHT;…

• WORSHIP IN A WAY THAT PLEASES GOD!
• WORSHIP WITH GLADNESS!
• TRUE WORSHIP BRINGS BLESSING!

EXODUS 34:14 …for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God…

DEUTERONOMY 4:19  And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them…

DEUTERONOMY 30:17-18  But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them…

WORSHIP OF OUR CREATOR

• Lying /false worship
• Worship of Creation – NOT OUR CREATOR

ROMANS 1:25 …who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

THE GOLDEN CALF

• Exodus 32:8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and WORSHIPED IT and sacrificed to it, and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!’ ”

LAST DAYS DECEPTION!

THE ANTI-CHRIST

• 2 Thessalonians 2:4 (self exalting Anti-Christ  & the Anti- Christ, worldly system) …who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is WORSHIPED, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

REVELATION 9:20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not WORSHIP demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.

REVELATION 13:4 …they WORSHIPED the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they WORSHIPED the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? …

REVELATION 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will WORSHIP him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

REVELATION 14:9-11 “If anyone WORSHIPS the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand… the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who WORSHIP the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

REVELATION 16:2 …a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who WORSHIPED  his image.

REVELATION 20:4

Then I saw the souls of those… who had not WORSHIPED the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

REVELATION 14:7 “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and WORSHIP HIM who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

JESUS IS WORTHY OF WORSHIP!

LET’S BE WORTHY OF JESUS!

• Philippians 1:27 I (Paul)… beseech you to WALK WORTHY of the calling with which you were called…

HOW?

PHILIPPIANS 1:27 …let your conduct be WORTHY of the gospel of Christ… 

COLOSSIANS 1:10 … that you may walk WORTHY of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

I THESSALONIANS 2:12 that you would walk WORTHY of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

2 THESSALONIANS 1:11 …that our God would count you WORTHY of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,

I TIMOTHY 5:17 Let the elders who rule well be counted WORTHY of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

ACTS 5:41 …rejoicing that they were counted WORTHY to suffer shame for His name.

ROMANS 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are NOT WORTHY to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

REVELATION 3:4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are WORTHY.

DON’T LOVE THE WORLD

• Do not be conformed to this world, – but be conformed to the will of God!
• (Romans 12:1-2;  I John 2:15-17)

LIVE WORTHY OF JESUS

• Matthew 10:37,38 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not WORTHY of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not WORTHY of Me.
• MATTHEW 22:8 Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not WORTHY.
• LUKE 21:36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted WORTHY to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

WE BECOME LIKE  WHO WE WORSHIP

• Let’s live a life-style of worship & praise!
• Let’s love and worship Him whole-heartedly!
• Let’s become like Him!
• Let’s be worthy of Jesus!

THE IMAGE OF GOD

• Genesis 1:27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created he them.
• 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18 We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are CHANGED INTO THE SAME IMAGE from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
• Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh…

WORSHIPERS
