“THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST”
Psalm 34:3 – Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.
Psalm 8:1 – O LORD, our LORD, how excellent is Your name in all the earth…
Deuteronomy 10:17 – For the Lord your God is God of gods and LORD OF LORDS, the great God, mighty and awesome…
I Timothy 6:14-15 – …until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and LORD OF LORDS…
Revelation 17:14 – These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is LORD OF LORDS and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
Revelation 19:16 – And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:6 – And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitud… saying, “Alleluia! For the LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT reigns!
TRUE & LIVING GOD – (I Kings 18)
18:21 – Elijah gathered the false prophets. If the LORD is God, follow Him, but if Baal, follow him…
18:24 – Call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD; and the God who answers by fire, He is God! 18:26 – They …called on the name of Baal from morning even till noon, saying, “O Baal, hear us!” But there was no voice; no one answered.
18:26 – they leaped about the altar which they had made.
18:27 – …at noon, Elijah mocked them and said, “Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened.”
18:28 – So they cried aloud, and cut themselves, as was their custom, with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them.
18:29 – they prophesied until the evening sacrifice, but there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention.
18:30 – Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” …
18:32 – he built an altar in the name of the LORD; and he made a trench around the altar.
18:33 – And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, “Fill four waterpots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.”
18:34 – Then he said, “Do it a second time,” and they did it a second time; and he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it a third time.
18:35 So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.
18:36 – Elijah the prophet came near and said, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel …
18:37 – Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God…
18:38 – Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench.
18:39 – Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The LORD, He is God! The LORD, He is God!”
18:40 – And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there.
SERVE THE LORD
Joshua 24:14-15 – “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served… Serve the LORD! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served …But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Saul was not a good person. He did not believe in the LORD, and was not serving Him until he had an amazing, personal encounter with Jesus. When Jesus revealed himself, his life was radically changed from the time onward,. His name was also changed to Paul.
Acts 9:5 – And he said, “Who are You, LORD?” Then the LORD said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
He went on to faithfully fulfill the ministry that he received from the LORD.
Acts 20:24 – But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the LORD Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
It is interesting that Jesus referred the LORDSHIP of God (supreme authority) when overcoming the temptations of the devil.
Matthew 4:7 – Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the LORD your God.’ ”
Matthew 4:10 – Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
RECOGNITION OF THE LORDSHIP OF GOD IS IMPORTANT
MARK 12:29-30 – Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. ”And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both LORD and Christ.”
And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.’
Lordship is Jesus Christ sitting on the throne of our lives, in control as Master and LORD (Supreme-authority).
The truly repentant heart gives every aspect of life over to Jesus and allows Him to be LORD (or boss).
JESUS IS LORD
JESUS IS LORD over our: Schedule; Family; School; Job; Money & Possessions; Thoughts; Friends; Music; Decisions; Lifestyle; etc…
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?” And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
…that you may walk worthy of the LORD, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the LORD, so walk in Him…
But put on the LORD Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
THE LORD IS OUR HELP
So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Note: We all need the Lord’s help. It is available as we humbly call upon. He promises to help us as we whole-heartedly submit to His LORDSHIP in our lives!
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
LORD, we continue to submit to your LORDSHIP! Thank you for the abundant life that you have provided. We need your help to live victoriously, and overcome evil. We will overcome by the power of your name, your precious blood, and the word of our testimony. We are committed to serve you. Help us to do your will and to please you in all things. Be glorified in our lives, LORD! AMEN!
