This is good news in a world where there’s great sicknesses, plagues, viruses, and untimely deaths. We can look to Jesus in faith, and receive needful healing!
There’s bad news everywhere in the world these days. The exciting thing about the GOSPEL is that it is GOOD NEWS, now and forever! Jesus forgives our sins, and He heals our bodies – both are a vital part of the gospel message!
Jesus Christ never changes! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE
Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever!
We WERE HEALED, ARE HEALED, AND SHALL BE HEALED! This is true FOREVER AND EVER!
He healed people before… He heals people today and forever. Praise God He is our healer. “Jehovah rapha”.
HEALING IS FOR TODAY
Some may ask – Is healing still for today? The exciting answer is ABSOLUTELY! YES, IT IS! It’s part of the gospel message!
Exodus 15:26 – He said, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in His eyes, if you pay attention to His commands and keep all His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”
The Hebrew word ‘rapha (rophe)’ – means “heal, “cure,” “restore,” or “make whole.” God revealed himself as Yahweh-Rapha (rophe), ” the LORD who heals. God is the source of all healing.
JEHOVAH-RAPHA(ROPHE)” – God says, “I am the God that heals you!” – (Paraphrase – I am Jehovah-Rapha/(Rophe) – I am the Lord, the Great Physician, the Healer”! Jehovah-Rapha (Rophe) is one of the wonderful, redemptive names of God!)
HEALING & HEALTH FOR ALL
There were millions in the wilderness. It was meant for every one of them and every one of them must have accepted it personally as seen in —
Psalm 105: 37… and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
A PROMISE OF GOD
This word of promise will endure forever. The Word of God is what God is: eternal, unchanging, living.”
If God just worked miracles in the past but will not do the same today, it would mean that He is just a God who “was” but not a God who “is”!
But the Bible says that He is the great “I AM” – “I am the Lord that heals you.” He will be saying exactly the same thing tomorrow, because He will still be the great “I AM”. There is no maybe; He heals ALL who come to Him believing His promise.
GOD IS TRUE! HE CANNOT AND WILL NOT LIE!
He will keep His promises! Don’t doubt God – doubt your doubts and fears!
The Lord promises to HEAL US! He cannot and will not lie! Do you have confidence that God will keep His promise? That is FAITH!
Numbers 23:19 – God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: has he said, and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken, and shall He not make it good?
Hebrews 6:18 – … it is IMPOSSIBLE for God to lie…
There has not failed one word of all His good promise (Solomon ) – I Kings 8:56.
Not one Word has failed of His good promises – … (Joshua).
Joshua 21:45 – NOT A WORD FAILED of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.
Joshua 23:14 – …you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.
For ever, O Lord, your Word is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89).
I will “HASTEN” my Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12).
Special note: Hasten means “to watch over,” to protect,” “to stand behind” In all of His infinite power, God is “standing behind” His Word to perform it!
We can find no ground for doubting God! Don’t doubt God. If you must doubt something, doubt your doubts, because they are unreliable, but never doubt God or His Word.
SATAN IS A LIAR
Jesus said that Satan is a liar. Satan lies to men, telling them that God’s Word is not true. He denies God’s Word and promises men everything but Satan is the one that breaks his promises!
JESUS IS THE SOURCE OF ABUNDANT LIFE & HEALING
John 10:10 – The thief (Satan) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
HEALING IS FOR ALL
Matthew 4:23-24 – Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about Him spread all over Syria, and people brought to Him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and He healed them.
JESUS wants us to proclaim the good news about the kingdom of God.
What is the GOOD NEWS? Healing is available for every diseases and sickness, those who are suffering & in pain, the demon possessed,
those who are paralyzed, etc… Jesus is able to heal them all.
JESUS is our healer
Healing is one of the finished work of Jesus on the Cross, as well as our salvation.
Isaiah 53:5 – But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds (stripes) we are healed.
1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by His wounds (stripes) you have been healed.”
…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes YOU WERE HEALED.
Psalms 103:3 – Who forgives all your sins, Who heals all your diseases;…
“Sozo” is the Greek word for salvation. According to Strong’s Concordance, Sozo also carries the idea of being physically healed of diseases and to be delivered from your enemy. In the spiritual sense, that enemy is the devil and his demons.)
We must always see a full 2-fold deliverance in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Greek word “SOZO” (the “word “saved” in many places in the Bible) when properly translated carries the meaning of “PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL HEALING”. It is the same word Jesus used when He said to the leper: “Your faith has made you whole”. It is the same word used in Luke 8:36 – “He that was possessed of the devils was HEALED”.
The “SAVED” in Romans 10:9… you shall be SAVED is the same Greek word used by Mark when he said, … as many (SICK PEOPLE) AS TOUCHED HIM WERE ‘made whole”. Both words “saved” and “made whole, were translated from the Greek word, “SOZO”.
Each of the words found in the following Scriptures are translated from the same Greek word “SOZO”: “HEALED” – Mark 5:23; “SAVED – Mark 16:16; “HEALED” – Luke 8:36; “SAVED” – Acts 2:21; “HEALED” – Acts 14:9; “SAVED” – Eph. 2:8; “SAVED” – Acts 2:21; “SAVED” – Luke 18:42; “SAVE” – James 5:15; ‘MADE WHOLE” – “Mark 5:34; “BE WHOLE” – Mark 5:28; “WHOLE” – Luke 17:19; “WHOLE” – ACTS 4:9; “SAVED” – Acts 4:12; “MADE WHOLE” – Mark 6:56
The word SALVATION is an all-inclusive word which gathers unto itself the meaning of full deliverance, complete safety, preservation, and soundness – spiritually, mentally, and physically.
What a MIGHTY MIRACLE – SALVATION from SIN and from SICKNESS!
JOHN G. LAKE
(John G Lake was a great missionary evangelist was used mightily in the healing of thousands.)
“This needs to be removed from the minds of God’s people – the idea that divine healing is something disassociated or separate from Christ’s salvation — IT IS NOT! Healing is simply the salvation of Jesus Christ having its divine action in a man’s body, the same as it had its divine action in a man’s soul. “
HEALING AND HEALTH IS GOD’S WILL
The will of God is to extricate the body, soul, and spirit of man from sin and effects or penalty of sin, which are disease and death.
IT IS ALWAYS HIS WILL TO HEAL those who will obey Him, believe Him, and act boldly on His Word of promise.
3 WAYS JESUS HEALS US
Mark 2:5,9-12 – (The example of paralyzed person his 3 friends helped him)(The example of paralyzed person his 3 friends helped him)… Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’? So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said… “Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!” And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!”
Luke 13:10-16 – One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, He saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” Then He touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God! But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. “There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd. “Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.” But the Lord replied, “You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don’t you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water? This dear woman, a daughter of Abraham, has been held in bondage by Satan for eighteen years. Isn’t it right that she be released, even on the Sabbath?”
Special note: Sicknesses sometimes involve a spiritual problem because of sin.
The solution for this problem is Jesus’ death on the cross. He lovingly paid the sacrifice & provided the solution – our healing.
Psalms 147:3 – He heals those who’s suffering emotionally. He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
Special note: Those who are humble; those that are contrite and heartbroken because of sin – He is able and willing to HEAL!
Jeremiah 30:17 – I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.
Psalms 23:3 – He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
He heals our: Anger; Bitterness; Hurts; Brokenness; Loneliness; Self pity, etc…
Psalms 41:3 – The Lord will sustain and strengthen him on his sickbed; In his illness, You will restore him to health.
Jeremiah 17:14 – Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; Save me and I will be saved, For You are my praise.
Special note: Cancer; Diseases; Any kind of Sicknesses… these things are not from God. The Lord is able to heal us from ALL of these physical attacks on our bodies, for His glory!
SOME OF THE HINDERANCES OF HEALING
Matthew 6:14-15 – If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
LACK OF PERSISTENCE
Luke 11:5-10 – Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Mark 6:4-6 Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any mighty miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
James 4:6 “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.”
Not being wise. Not taking proper care & nurture of our bodies, which are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are given the stewardship of our body. We need to be faithful, wise stewards of our body in the things we do, and partake of…
PRAYING IN THE NAME OF JESUS
Special note: We can be healed by using the name of Jesus
Acts 3:6-9,11-12, 14-16 – Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God… Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: …you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know.
Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
HAVE FAITH IN GOD
According to your faith be it unto you (Matt. 9:29) So, ask in faith, nothing wavering (James 1:6)
Mark 11:22 – …have faith in God!
WE MUST BELIEVE
Signs follow those that believe.
Mark 16:18 – … they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover…
The Gospel is the power of God to everyone that believes (Rom. 1:16). The gospel is the power of God, when believed.
A POWERFUL TESTIMONY
A woman in New York, U.S. was on her deathbed with tuberculosis! She had been bedridden with T.B. for several months. As she meditated on I Peter 1:24 –“Who his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree” she wept with gratitude for the salvation Jesus had provided. “He had borne her sins”! She was confident that when T.B had run its course, that she would be ready to die.
Then she read further… “by whose stripes you were healed.” She re-read the verse and noticed that Jesus had borne her sins – he had already done it. It was past. It was over. She was saved. She knew it. It was very real to her. Nothing could make her doubt it! What about those other words in the same verse? “by whose stripes you were healed”? Could it be true? It must be… It’s the Word of God!
In her weakened voice she called out to her mother – “Did you know that God said in His Word that I WAS HEALED?” Tears of joy began flowing down her cheeks. Listen to this, the Bible says – “By whose stripes you were healed.” That must mean ME. … It has already been done. I’m healed! I’m healed! Get my clothes. Bring them here. I’m healed. This is wonderful!! (The mother tried to calm her down and keep her in bed, and avoided bringing her clothes to her – but she could not control her daughter’s joy!)
Didn’t you teach us to believe all of the Word of God? … to believe EVERY WORD of the Bible? The one-time victim of tuberculosis arose by herself, put on her clothes, left her bedroom, went shouting through the house, and was completely HEALED! In less than three weeks, she was normal in weight and was completely restored!
What happened? She had come to treat the Word of God as a direct revelation of what He was eager to do for her. When she saw what He had said in His Word and believed it, it produced faith: “Faith comes by hearing… the Word of God.” The power of healing swept through her body and she was delivered!
Luke 4:18 – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me
to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me TO HEAL the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Acts 10:38 – how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and HEALING ALL who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Psalm 107:2 – He sent His Word, and (it) HEALED them, and delivered them from their destructions…
2 Chron. 7:14 – … I will — HEAL their land!
Jer. 30:17 – I will restore HEALTH to you, I WILL HEAL you of your wounds…
Hosea 6:1 – come let us return to the Lord – HE WILL HEAL us.
Psalm 103:3 – … who forgives all our iniquities & HEALS all our diseases.
Malachi 4:2 – … The Son of Righteousness shall rise with HEALING in His wings

The fear of sickness need never be tolerated by the redeemed, re-created, and delivered child of Jehovah-Rapha (the Lord, the great PHYSICIAN or HEALER).
JESUS THE GREAT PHYSICIAN
JESUS REFERS TO HIMSELF AS A PHYSICIAN, AND A PROPHET.
Luke 4:22-24 – He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum do also here in Your country.’ 24 Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country.
MARK 2:17 – When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
MARK 5:25-29 – …Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from MANY PHYSICIANS. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was HEALED of the affliction.
JESUS IS OUR HEALER
HEALING IS PART OF JESUS MINISTRY TODAY

Luke 5:17 – the power of the Lord was present TO HEAL them.
Acts 10:38 – how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and HEALING ALL who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give LIFE to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
DIVINE HEALING COMES FROM GOD
I John 5:14-15 – Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked OF HIM.
PRAY FOR HEALING
James 5:16 – Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may BE HEALED. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
JESUS IS THE SOURCE OF HEALING
(Isaiah 53:5-6; I Peter 2:24)
Psalm 30:2 – O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and YOU HEALED ME.
JEREMIAH 17:14– HEAL ME, O Lord, and I SHALL BE HEALED; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.
PSALM 147:3 – He HEALS the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
REVELATION 22:2 – …on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the HEALING OF THE NATIONS.
HEALING IS OUR BREAD
Exodus 23:25 – “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your BREAD and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
MATTHEW 15:25-28 – …she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the CHILDREN’S BREAD and throw it to the little dogs.” 27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was HEALED from that very hour.
LET’S DO OUR PART
Have FAITH; PRAY; BELIEVE; TRUST; CONFESS; ACT UPON…
We can be healed by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
James 5:15 And the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
2 Cor. 6:1 – We then, as workers together with Him…
WHEN WE DO OUR PART – GOD IS WELL ABLE TO DO HIS PART…
JESUS IS OUR HEALER! HE IS THE GREATEST PHYSICIAN!
HE IS ABLE TO HELP US AS WE PRAY IN FAITH! WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.
Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and rewards everyone who searches for him.
Matthew 19:26 – Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
