Happy are the people whose God is the Lord! Psalm 144:15

Psalms 37:4-5 – Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

I. We Need A Spiritual Desire To Be Satisfied And Enjoy Our Life In God

II. We Should Love God More than Anything Else

  • Delight Yourself In The Lord
    • Psalms 147:11 – the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.
    • The Lord delights in us if we continue to praise him
    • When we are doing what we should we doing in accordance in His will.
    • When we fear Him we respect him we hate evil.
    • When we put our hope in his unfailing love.
  • When We Desire Spiritual Things We Can Acquire His Protection And His Favor.
    • II Chronicles 15:15 – And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him with all their soul; and He was found by them, and the Lord gave them rest all around.
    • These Are The Keys Of Their Success
      • They rejoice in the Lord.
      • Psalms 144:15 – Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!
      • They are people with a heart that seeks God.
      • The Lord gave them rest all around.
      • Rest physically emotionally spiritually
      • and they live in peace.
  • Psalms 38:9 – You, Lord, know every one of my deepest desires, and my noisy groans are no secret to you.
  • Psalms 73:25-26 – Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
    • Focus on what really matters
    • Colossians 3:1-4 – Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
    • Philippians 3:12-14 – Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

II. We Should Love God More than Anything Else

  • Deuteronomy 6:5 – Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
  • Deuteronomy 10:12 – And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
  • What Does The Lord Your God Ask You?
    • To Fear The Lord Your God
      • Proverbs 8:13 – To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
    • To Walk In Obedience
      • 1 Samuel 15:22 – But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
      • Deuteronomy 5:33 – Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
      • We Cannot Obey The Lord If Our Heart Is Not Conform In His Will
      • John 14:15 – If you love me, keep my commands.
    • Love And Serve Him With All Your Heart And Soul
      • 2 Thessalonians 3:5 – May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
      • Ephesians 3:17 – So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
      • He showed His love to us, He loves us unconditionally. We should love our brothers and sisters in the Lord unconditionally that is truly bring delights to God.
      • 1 John 4:19-21 – We love because He first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
      • Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God’s love encompasses us completely He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.

III. He Gives The Desires Of Our Heart

  • Psalms 37:4 – Delight yourself in the Lord, And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart.
  • John 15:7 – If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
    • We should stay connected in his word loving his word applying his word in our life.
    • We are connected to him in prayer and worship everyday.
    • You will see God answers your desires
  • I John 3:22 – And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
  • Psalms 21:2 – You have given him his heart’s desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
  • Psalms 145:19 – He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.

CONCLUSION

  • Psalms 19:14 – Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
  • Psalms 35:27 – Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, “Great is the Lord, who delights in the welfare of his servant!”
