FEAR OF GOD / NO FEAR

Definition of the FEAR OF GOD
The unrighteous have NO FEAR OF GOD (Romans 3:18; 1:18-25)
The unrighteous DO NOT FEAR, and they will receive judgment – they worship and serve the creature, rather than the CREATOR

OUR AWESOME CREATOR / HIS WONDERFUL CREATION DISPLAYS HIS HANDIWORK

Worship Him – not ourselves – He is truly GREAT!
Recognize His fingerprints – Psalm 8:1-4

God’s mighty acts produce THE FEAR OF GOD (Centurion, Paralytic healed; etc)

Different amazing creative acts of God – (Fish, bees, water, etc..)

OUR ALMIGHTY CREATOR – Seeing God’s Wonderful Creation should produce in us the awesome FEAR OF THE LORD – ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD! (Mark 10:27; Jeremiah 32)

THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS A REQUIREMENT (for our good)

Keeping His commandments and walking in His ways demonstrates the FEAR OF THE LORD
Show reverence – He is AWESOME!
HATE EVIL – (do good) – resist pride… Micah 6:8 – keep HUMBLE!
The FEAR OF THE LORD helps keep us from sinning.
It is by the FEAR OF THE LORD that we stay away from sin… (Illustration – famous minister fell into sin, was imprisoned, was repentant … his testimony – “he loved Jesus, but HE DIDN’T FEAR GOD – “He was not the supreme authority in my life”

BLESSINGS of FEARING THE LORD / CURSINGS OF NOT FEARING THE LORD

The Lord will bless those that FEAR HIM!
Those that disobey and do NOT FEAR THE LORD will be inflicted with terrible plagues!
Satan is trying to destroy THE FEAR OF THE LORD globally!

THE FEAR OF THE LORD IN THE EARLY CHURCH

Acts 9:31 – Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.
Acts 2:43 – Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
Acts 5:11 – So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.
