THE LORD IS IN OUR MIDST

JESUS – PRESENT TO HEAL
The man with the withered hand
Mark 3:1-6 – And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. 2 So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him. 3 And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Step forward.” 4 Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent. 5 And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other. 6 Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.
Special note: In a church service gathering we attended this week, I was reminded of several important insights from this story of “the man with the withered hand” – (Mark 3:1-6). Jesus was with them there in their synagogue (gathering place of worship). When Jesus met with them, there was a miraculous healing! The man with the withered hand could easily represent all of us. We all need Jesus’s special healing touch to make us whole. In His presence is where miracles happen! The Pharisees and religious leaders were also there – finding fault; refusing reason; missing out on the miraculous; giving their hard-hearted judgments siding with the Herodians (political regime of the day opposing the Lord). Jesus showed up in their gathering, and what a huge difference it made to the needy man who had the withered hand! At Jesus invitation, let’s all receive whatever He has for us, and ‘step forward’ into His calling and purposes for our life! Let’s do what He tells us to do, and be healed and blessed! (1)
THE LORD REJOICES OVER YOU
Matthew 18:33 – … he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.
Isaiah 62:5 – And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you.
Revelation 19:6-7 – And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”
