Jesus said, “...you shall receive power (ability; efficiency; might – AMP) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end (uttermost part) of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
Zechariah 4:6 – So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power (don’t depend on your own power or strength – CEV; You will not succeed by your own strength or by your own power – EXB), but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.
EMPOWERMENT
How and where can we get the empowerment to accomplish God’s will in our lives?
- Holy Spirit empowerment is needed to accomplish the will of the Lord in the earth!
MIcah 3:8 – …truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of justice and might…
Isaiah 40:6 – He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Luke 1:35 – “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Luke 4:14 ,18-19; 5:17; 6:19 – Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region… “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed… the power of the Lord was present to heal them… And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.
Acts 10:38 – God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Romans 1:4 – declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.
Romans 15:13 – Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:19 – …in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

POWER OF THE GOSPEL

- We need the empowerment of the Spirit of God to fulfill our mission here on earth, just like Jesus!
