We encourage people to read through the Bible on a yearly basis, as well as memorize Scripture. This is probably one of the most rewarding, and fruitful activities of the year. We acknowledge, honor, and appreciate those who have accomplished their Bible reading goals of either reading through the whole Bible – or at least the New Testament by having a special dinner night to celebrate together. We have doing this for around 18 years now…

Here’s a rock that carries an important message — “Read the Bible” (on one side). You turn it over and it reads – “And Be Blessed”. The wise build their house on the rock. What is the rock? The living Word of God! Jesus is our Rock! He reveals himself (Rhema) through All Scripture (Logos). Jesus is building HIs church on THE ROCK!

Matthew 16:18-19 – ...on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Isaiah 34:16SEEK you out of the BOOK OF THE LORD, and READ: not one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it has commanded, and His spirit it has gathered them. (AMPC) – …not one of these [details of prophecy] shall fail, none shall want and lack her mate [in fulfillment]. For the mouth [of the Lord] has commanded,

Psalm 1:1-3Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly… but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Jeremiah 15:16Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.

Matthew 4:4; Luke 4:4He (JESUS) answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Psalm 19:10-11 – More to be desired are they (the Words of God) than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.

Proverbs 8:32-36 – “…LISTEN to me (wisdom), my children, for blessed are those who keep my ways.33 HEAR instruction and BE WISE, and do not disdain it.34 Blessed is the man who LISTENS to me, watching DAILY at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.35 For whoever finds me finds LIFE, and obtains favor from the Lord;36 BUT he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”

We listened to part of an inspirational video by Pastor Wayne Cordeiro (New Hope, Aloha, Hawaii) – “Make Us Wise”. I would encourage you all to listen to it, as well. It is a powerful message encouraging us to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to Him, like Mary (Luke 10:39-42). You will be inspired and blessed! Please take the time to check it out. It is less than 27 minutes, and well worth the investment of time. Here is the link:

Here’s a few of the highlights from the reports given at the dinner. One lady testified to reading the Bible through for the last 18 years, and she showed some of her marked out Bible Reading Schedules. A little girl attended who read through the New Testament last year (the 1st book she has ever read). One lady joyfully testified to reading the Bible through for the first time since she’s been born again — she finally accomplished that goal, and she was so happy! An elderly man testified to reading the Bible through multiple times. One of the young ladies memorized 3 books of the New Testament – (Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians) – in English! Of course, Colleen and I practice what we preach, and faithfully read/listen and journal ourselves, as well! The goals for this coming year are exciting, as many want to continue not only read the Bible through again, but some of them multiple times, and also memorize large portions of Scripture, as well! PTL!

A number of other people reported reading through the Bible last year as well, that are not seen in the picture below. They were unable to attend the dinner due to schedule complications, health issues, or whatever… We praise God for each one who has demonstrated diligence in this worthy endeavor, whether able to be at the dinner or not!

The marked off Bible Reading Schedule shown below was given to me from a young girl (around 11 years of age – front row, far right in the above picture – her mother is behind her in the 2nd row to the right, next to the lady in the pink shirt). Julie read all the way through the Bible when she was 9 years old, and is still faithfully reading… Glory to God! Julie lost her father a number of years ago, but the Lord is her comforting Father! He is a true and faithful father to the fatherless! Note that she wrote on the front of her Bible Reading ScheduleI am a child of God!Hallelujah!
