“I AM ALIVE FOREVERMORE!” (Jesus)

Revelation 1:18“I AM He who LIVES, and was dead, and behold, I AM ALIVE FOREVERMORE. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”

I AMLORD, GOD, SAVIOR, HOLY ONE, REDEEMER, MIGHTY ONE

Isaiah 49:26; 60:16 – You shall know that I, the LORDAM your SAVIOR and your REDEEMER, the MIGHTY ONE of Jacob.

  • Special note: 2 Peter 3:18…but grow in the grace and knowledge of OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
  • Notice the special revelation of JESUS as OUR SAVIOR. God’s promises of sending a Savior and Redeemer are fulfilled in JESUS!

I AM” THE GOOD SHEPHERD

I AM”

John 8:58 (The Eternal One) – Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was,  I AM.”

JESUS IS THE SAME ALWAYS AND FOREVER

Hebrews 13:8JESUS CHRIST the same, yesterday, today, and FOREVER!

THERE ARE MANY OTHER STORIES ABOUT RESURRECTION IN THE BIBLE

  • Elijah and the widow’s son; Jairus’s daughter; The Widow’s son; Eutychus; Many saints rose following Jesus resurrection; etc.

Here are several of them as recorded in the Scriptures:

    The 12 YEAR OLD GIRL

Mark 5:23 – …and begged Him (Jesus) earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will LIVE.”… He (Jesus)… entered where the child was lying. 41 Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, ARISE.” 42 Immediately the girl AROSE and walked, for she was twelve years of age.

The NOBLEMAN’S SON WHO WAS DYING

John 4:47,50,51,53 –  ..he (Nobleman)… implored Him (Jesus) to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death… Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son LIVES.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son LIVES!”… So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him,  And he himself believed, and his whole household.

            Lazarus

John 11:14, 25,26 – Jesus said to her, “I am the RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. He who believes in Me, though he may die, HE SHALL LIVE….  38 Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with grave clothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

John 12:1 – Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who HAD BEEN DEAD, whom He had raised from the dead… 9) Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, WHOM HE HAD RAISED FROM THE DEAD…

WE ARE ALSO GIVEN RESURRECTION LIFE BY HIS SPIRIT

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us!

Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who RAISED CHRIST FROM THE DEAD will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Paul expressed great appreciation for resurrection power!

Philippians 3:8-11 – I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord..10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection... being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

            THE POWERFUL GOSPEL

            UNASHAMED WITNESS

Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the GOSPEL of Christ, for it is the POWER OF GOD TO SALVATION for everyone who believes

JESUS ABOLISHED DEATH – GOSPEL LIGHT REVEALS LIFE AND IMMORTALITY

2 Timothy 1:1,10 – Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of LIFE which is in Christ Jesus… but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished DEATH and brought LIFE AND IMMORTALITY to light through the GOSPEL…

The GOSPEL REVEALS GOD’S GOODNESS! He is a GOOD GOD!

God is LOVE! THE WORLD NEEDED A SAVIOR because we are all sinners in need of rescue from the consequences of sin.

A SAVIOR WAS PROMISED and JESUS, OUR PROMISED SAVIOR CAME TO THIS EARTH …

            JESUS WAS BORN

Isaiah 9:6-7 – For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE. 7Of the increase of His government and peace there will be NO END, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even FOREVER. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

“JESUS”Matthew 1:21 – …you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.

I John 4:9 – In this the LOVE OF GOD was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might LIVE through Him.

            JESUS LIVED

He needed to be born and live, before He could give His life as a sacrifice for our sins, and be resurrected. His life was miraculous and notable. Everywhere he went and whatever He did He was doing good (Acts 10:38).

            SUMMARY OF THE GOSPEL message

            • His prophetic fulfillment. (It is said that there are 351 Messianic prophecies fulfilled in Christ.)(1)
            • The virgin birth – (Born of a virgin – a miraculous conception).
            • Christ’s miraculous life – (Showing the  will of God, healing and helping everywhere.)
            • His crucifixion, death and burial – (The shedding of His innocent blood for the remission of sins.)
            • His resurrection / ascension – (His miraculous resurrection as prophesied on the 3rd day / Great Commission and final word.)
            • Jesus is Coming Again! – (Our blessed hope – as He went away, so He will come again… soon!)

TRUE AND LIVING GOD (Our Creator)

The God we serve is the one TRUE AND LIVING GOD. He created the world, and everything in it. He made the first man and woman. He created them to love them, and put them in a beautiful garden. There was no sickness,or demons to torment them. Their life was beautiful and peaceful in the Garden of Eden.

            Our enemy – the Devil!

            The Fall

BUT — God has an enemy! Some of his names are Satan, Lucifer, Serpent, and the Devil! When Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying HIm, God was grieved! They had allowed Satan to bring torment to human beings through sin, sickness, and demons to torment them, and it has caused great suffering.

            GOD’S LOVE AND COMPASSION

God’s Mercy and LoveGod LOVED them so much that He made a promise to mankind that He would send His Son to the Earth who would set the human race free from the power and works of the devil.

Story of Jesus – (THE GOSPEL)

            VIRGIN MARY

An angel came to A YOUNG VIRGIN named Mary. He said, “blessed are. You among women, for you shall bear in your womb the Son of God” Mary asked, “how can this be? I have never known a man!” (Luke 1:34).

            The Conception of Jesus

The angel explained, “The Holy Spirit of God shall overshadow you, Mary. You shall conceive a boy child. You shall call His name JESUS. He shall save the people of the world from their sins.” (Matthew 1; Luke 1) Jesus came to this world to destroy the works of the devil!” (I John 3:8)

            THE GOOD LIFE OF JESUS

It happened just as the angel said. The child was born and grew to become a man. Everywhere He went, He did good! (Acts 10:38) Jesus did no evil, but did only good.

Jesus went everywhere showing people how much God LOVED them. He did this by healing their diseases, and opened the eyes of the blind. He made deaf ears to hear.

JESUS WAS A MIGHTY MIRACLE WORKER

He put strength into the legs of cripples, so they could walk, He healed those who asked Him and His words were so powerful that when He spoke, demons came out of those who were demon-possessed.

            JESUS IS MERCIFUL AND FORGIVING

Since Jesus was God in the flesh, He could forgive people of their sins. He forgave sinners. He forgave thieves and murderers. He forgave prostitutes and adulterers. He forgave drunkards and drug addicts and helped change their lives, not to continue to  sin.

JESUS WAS CRUCIFIEDTHE BETRAYAL AND CRUCIFIXION

They hung Him on a CROSS. They put nails through His hands and feet. While He hung there, they stuck a spear in His side and water and blood gushed forth to the ground.

            JESUS DIED

Some may wonder if Jesus was truly the Son of God, how could these men kill Him? Jesus was born fort his PURPOSE. He was BORN TO DIE for you and me.

“IT IS FINISHED!” – FINAL MESSAGE ON THE CROSS

The sacrifice for our sins was completed! No more flagellation or crucifixion  is needed! JESUS suffered for us ONCE AND FOR ALL!

            SACRIFICED ONCE FOR ALL!

Hebrews 7:27 – …this He did ONCE FOR ALL when He offered up Himself.

Hebrews 9:12 – …with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place ONCE FOR ALL, having obtained eternal redemption.

Matthew 20:28 – just as the Son of   Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for (to rescue) many.”

John 15:13 Greater LOVE has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

THE FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS

Taking up our cross to follow Jesus isn’t done by annually carrying a cross down the street once a year with a bleeding back. NO!

TAKING UP OUR CROSS AND FOLLOWING JESUS

What I believe Jesus taught us was not in the literal sense of re-enacting his crucifixion, but in being willing to humbly and obediently submit our will to His will. Wherever and whenever our will may cross His will, let’s submit to His will in our lives.

Before Jesus gave his life on the cross he cried out to our Father “NOT MY WILL, BUT YOURS BE DONE!” (Luke 22:42).

            REDEMPTION

Psalm 103:4 – Who REDEEMS your life from destruction…

I Peter 2:24 – who Himself bore our   sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might LIVE for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own LOVE toward us, in that while we were still sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US.

            A SINLESS SACRIFICE

One of God’s laws was that “without the shedding of innocent blood there is no remission for the sins of mankind.” Jesus knew only the sinless, pure blood of the Son of God would be an acceptable sacrifice as the price for our sins.

            SAVIOR OF THE WORLD

While he hung on the cross, He may have looked ahead in time to right now, in year 2024 when you and I and people all over the would need a Savior and Healer. He loved you so much that He willingly hung on that cross for YOU, and gave up His life for your sins and for the sins of the whole world, and died!

Romans 3:23; 6:23ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God… the wages (consequences; result) of sin is death, BUT the GIFT OF GOD is eternal life through Jesus.

            BURIAL

His friends took His body off the cross and laid it in a tomb. He laid there in the tomb for 3 days. On the 3rd day  the power of the Creator of the Universe came into the lifeless body of Jesus Christ and HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD! Now, HE IS ALIVE FOREVERMORE! HALLELUJAH!

Again, our key text: Revelation 1:18 I AM He who LIVES, and was dead, and behold, I AM ALIVE FOREVERMORE. Amen. And  I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”   (JESUS)

            EYE WITNESSES OF THE RESURRECTION

After Jesus was raised from the dead, He showed Himself alive to many hundreds of people. Some BELIEVED in Him, and some still didn’t BELIEVE. What about you? ARE YOU A BELIEVER?

            PROOFS OF THE RESURRECTION

Acts 1:3 – …to whom He also PRESENTED HIMSELF ALIVE after His suffering by MANY INFALLIBLE PROOFS, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

            3 KEY EYE-WITNESSES – JOHN, PETER, PAUL

I John 1:1,2 – That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the WORD OF LIFEthe life was manifested, and WE HAVE SEEN, AND BEAR WITNESS, and declare to you that ETERNAL LIFE which was with the Father and was manifested to us—

1 Peter 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a LIVING HOPE through the RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST FROM THE DEAD

I Corinthians 15:1-7I declare to you the GOSPEL which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are SAVED, IF you hold fast that word which I preached to you— Christ DIED for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was BURIED, and that HE ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He WAS SEEN by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was SEEN by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was SEEN by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was SEEN by me also

            ASCENSION

He told His followers, “I must go back to Heaven to be with my father; but it is good for you that I go away, for I shall send my Spirit to the Earth. (John 16:7) Then, wherever you tell this Good News about Me, if the people will believe it and call on My name, My Spirit will come to live inside of them and they will become children of God.”

            HEAVEN

When a child of God dies and their eternal spirit leaves their body, they go to Heaven to live with God. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). In Heaven there is peace and joy forever!

            HELL

However, Jesus said, “If they do not believe and will not call on My Name, My Spirit cannot come to live within their eternal spirit and when they die, they will go to Hell.”

HELL is a place of torment and pain and separation from God, from which there is no escape. We are all members of the human race, but we are not all children of God. God love you so much! He has made a way to escape hell! He does not want even one of us to go to Hell. (2 Peter 3:9)

JESUS IS ALIVE FOREVER, AND STILL DOES MIRACLES! (2)

Before He returned to Heaven, Jesus promised “Wherever you tell the truth about Me, if the people will believe it and call upon My name, I will be there among them”. Jesus is able and willing to also do miracles today. HE IS ALIVE! We can expect Him to do healings and miracles when we pray! Jesus did not just do miracles 2,000 years ago, but He is still doing them today! He is able and willing to answer our prayers because He is the true and LIVING GOD, our Creator!

Again be reminded of: Hebrews 13:8JESUS CHRIST the same, yesterday, today, and FOREVER!

Once again: Revelation 1:18“I AM He who LIVES, and was dead, and behold, I AM ALIVE  FOREVERMORE. Amen. And  I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”   (JESUS)

            SAVIOR OF THE WORLD

John 4:14 – And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

John 4:42 – …we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Matthew 1:21 – …you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

JESUS is the only way to the Father and all of us must receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord (John 14:6; John 1:12).

Acts 4:12Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Paul and Silas said to the jailer: Acts 16:30-33 – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house…. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.

Mark 16:15-16 – And He (JESUS) said to them… “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

            LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

If you have unsaved loved ones, be bold and unashamed to share the gospel with them, and help rescue them from destruction.

STEPS TO TAKE FOR ASSURANCE OF SALVATION

            • REPENT – Acknowledge that we have sinned, confess our sins, and ask forgiveness – with determination to turn from sin and live now to please the Lord. Luke 13:3,5 – I (Jesus) tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. I John 1:9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
            • BELIEVEMark 1:14-15 – ..Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
              • Special note: The first 2 words of the gospel as recorded in Mark were – REPENT AND BELIEVE!
              • Hebrews 11:6 – …without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
              • Acts 16:31BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved...
            • RECEIVEJohn 1:12 – …as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His nameRevelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the doorI will come in to him
              • John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
              • When we sincerely open our heart to the Lord in prayer, Jesus promises to come into our life. He cannot and will not lie because He is the truth, and the source of life!
            • PRAY (out loud) — our faith is activated by our words (not just our thoughts)! Romans 10:8-10,13 – “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation... For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
              • When you sincerely pray, and call upon the name of the Lord following these steps as mentioned, you can have a blessed assurance of salvation.
              • Of course, that needs to be done with a sincere commitment to continue to allow Jesus to be your Lord as well as Savior all the days of your life, and proving that commitment in your daily life. (John 15:1-16; Romans 11:22)
              • I John 5:11-13 – …this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
              • I John 2:25 – And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.
              • When you pray out loud to receive the Lord, here are some things to consider including in your prayer – 1) Acknowledging, confessing, and repenting of sin; 2) Express your belief and faith in Jesus to be your Savior from sin 3) Opening up the door of your heart and inviting Jesus to come into your life by His Spirit 4) Express your willingness to yield to HIs Lordship and will to be done in your life, and to continue to live for Him all the days of your life 5) Thanking Him and praising Him for hearing your prayer, for His forgiveness and for being your Savior from the consequences of sin..
            • Continue to live for Jesus, and abide in Him. You need His Word. Determine to read the Bible, meditate on it, and pray on a daily basis. You need to experience wonderful fellowship with our Wonderful Heavenly Father, as well as fellowship with fellow believers on a regular basis. Find a church family that is Bible believing, that preaches the true gospel and become planted in a church fellowship of believers. Be a true worshipper in spirit and in truth (John 4:23,24) Be a faithful witness of Jesus, and share a living testimony of your faith with others.

            SHARING THE GOSPEL

            • Special note: For some who may have loved ones who are unsaved, you may like to copy/paste the above steps and send to them, for them to consider. Time is running out – “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (I Corinthians 6:2) There is coming a time soon when our destiny’s will be set forever, and there will be no more opportunity… (Revelation 22:10-11)

BECAUSE HE LIVES, WE ALSO HAVE HOPE OF RESURRECTION LIFE!

A wonderful song that expresses so well our thankfulness for the truth that Jesus is alive, and gives us hope daily, and for the future is: “BECAUSE HE LIVES(3)

            CHORUS:

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone… Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living just because He lives!
