RAISING A STANDARD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS – (H)

Isaiah 59:19 – So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will LIFT UP A STANDARD AGAINST HIM.

• Special note: Raising a standard against the enemy is part of the wonderful work of the Holy Spirit! God is a GOD OF MERCY (Ephesians 2:4; 2 Corinthians 1:3; I Peter 1:3; 2 John 1:3; Jude 1:21 – see below). He SAVES, REGENERATES, and RENEWS US BY THE HOLY SPIRIT (Titus 3:5).

A STANDARD OF MERCY

• Special note: It is interesting how GOD’S MERCY is also part of the STANDARD of RIGHTEOUSNESS, as seen in the following verses…

Hebrews 8:12 – For I will be MERCIFUL to their UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

• Special note: MERCIFULNESS TO UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, and the Lord’s forgiveness of sins RAISES A STANDARD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Psalm 89:14 – RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE are the foundation of Your throne; MERCY AND TRUTH go before Your face.

Isaiah 16:5 – In MERCY the throne will be established; And One will sit on it IN TRUTH, in the tabernacle of David, JUDGING and SEEKING JUSTICE and HASTENING RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

Psalm 85:10 – MERCY AND TRUTH have met together; RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE have kissed.

• Special note: It is noteworthy that MERCY is blended with the STANDARDS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, JUSTICE, TRUTH, and PEACE.

Psalm 103:17 – But the MERCY of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS to children’s children…

Proverbs 21:21– He who follows RIGHTEOUSNESS AND MERCY finds life, RIGHTEOUSNESS, and honor.

• Special note: The MERCY of the Lord and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS are spoken of somewhat synonymously, and in connection with one another.

Hosea 2:19 – “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE, In LOVINGKINDNESS AND MERCY…

• Special note: The church, as the BRIDE OF CHRIST is LOVINGLY AND MERCIFULLY betrothed to Christ in RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUSTICE.

Hosea 10:12 – Sow for yourselves RIGHTEOUSNESS; Reap in MERCY; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, till HE COMES AND RAINS RIGHTEOUSNESS on you.

• Special note: What does sowing (doing) RIGHTEOUSNESS produce? Abundant MERCY.

James 3:17 – But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, FULL OF MERCY AND GOOD FRUITS, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

• Special note: How is godly wisdom seen? Through GOOD FRUITS and it is FULL OF MERCY!

WHERE WOULD WE BE WITHOUT THE MERCIES OF GOD OUR SAVIOR?

Lamentations 3:22-26 – Through the LORD’S MERCIES we are not consumed, because HIS COMPASSIONS FAIL NOT.²³ They are new every morning;GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS. ²⁴ “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”²⁵ The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.²⁶ It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the SALVATION OF THE LORD.

IT’S NOT OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT SAVES US – IT’S BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY

Titus 3:5 – Not by WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS which we have done, but according to HIS MERCY He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS MERCIES ENDURE FOREVER

Psalm 136:1; (I Chronicles 16:34) – Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for HE IS GOOD! For HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER.

• Special note: It is noteworthy that not just in the first verse of Psalm 136, but every one of the 26 verses of this psalm gives thanks and praise to the Lord FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER. As mentioned previously, there is something that is very special, which resonates in the heart of God when His people when they “praise Him for HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER”. We will consider several other examples…

Psalm 106:1; 107:1; 136:26 – Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for HE IS GOOD! For HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER.

DEDICATION OF SOLOMONS TEMPLE

2 Chronicles 5:13,14; 7:3,6 – indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and PRAISED THE LORD, saying: “FOR HE IS GOOD, FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES 

FOREVER,” that the house was filled with a cloud, ⁴ so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for THE GLORY OF THE LORD FILLED THE HOUSE OF GOD… When all the children of Israel saw how THE FIRE CAME DOWN, and THE GLORY OF THE LORD on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and PRAISED THE LORD, saying: “FOR HE IS GOOD, FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER.” … And the priests attended to their services; … with instruments of the music of the Lord, which King David had made to praise the Lord, saying, “FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER,”

JEHOSHAPHAT’S ARMY’S GREAT VICTORY

2 Chronicles 20:14-22 – Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel…. ¹⁵ And he said,…“ Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s…¹⁷ You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord… for the Lord is with you.”¹⁸ And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. ¹⁹ Then the Levites… stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with voices loud and high…and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” ²¹ And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “PRAISE THE LORD, FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER.” ²² Now WHEN THEY BEGAN TO SING AND TO PRAISE, the Lord set ambushes against the people… who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 

WHEN THE FOUNDATION  OF THE REBUILT TEMPLE WAS LAID

Ezra 3:11 – And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “FOR HE IS GOOD, FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER TOWARD ISRAEL.” Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the FOUNDATION OF THE HOUSE OF THE LORD was laid.

THE BRIDE (CHURCH) REJOICES IN THE LORD’S EVERLASTING MERCY

Jeremiah 33:11 – …the voice of JOY and the voice of GLADNESS, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say: “PRAISE THE LORD OF HOSTS, FOR THE LORD IS GOOD, FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER”— and of those who will bring THE SACRIFICE OF PRAISE into the house of the Lord. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,’ says the Lord.

THE LORD IS MERCIFUL, COMPASSIONATE, KIND AND FORGIVING

James 5:11 – Indeed we count them BLESSED who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very COMPASSIONATE and MERCIFUL.

2 Corinthians 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the FATHER OF MERCIES and God of all comfort…

Ephesians 2:4-5 – But God, who is RICH IN MERCY, because of His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).

Hebrews 2:17 – Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a MERCIFUL AND FAITHFUL High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

I Peter 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His ABUNDANT MERCY has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

2 John 1:3; – Grace, MERCY, and peace will be with you FROM GOD THE FATHER and FROM THE LORD JESUS CHRIST,

Psalm 117:2 – For His MERCIFUL KINDNESS IS GREAT toward us, And the TRUTH of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord! Blessed be the Lord…
Psalm 31:21 – For He has shown me His MARVELOUS KINDNESS in a strong city!

Psalm 119:76 – Let, I pray, Your MERCIFUL KINDNESS be for MY COMFORT, according to Your word to Your servant.

Psalm 54:8 – … WITH EVERLASTING KINDNESS I WILL HAVE MERCY ON YOU,” says the Lord, your Redeemer.

Joel 2:13 – Return to the Lord your God, For HE IS GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL, Slow to anger, and OF GREAT KINDNESS; And He relents from doing harm.

Galatians 5:22 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, KINDNESS (gentleness), goodness, faithfulness…

Ephesians 2:7 – that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of HIS GRACE in HIS KINDNESS toward us in Christ Jesus.

Titus 3:4-5 – But when the KINDNESS and THE LOVE OF GOD our Savior toward man appeared, ⁵ … according to HIS MERCY He saved us…

Psalm 51:1; 69:16; 25:6 – HAVE MERCY upon me, O God, according to YOUR LOVINGKINDNESS; According to the MULTITUDE OF YOUR TENDER MERCIES, Blot out my transgressions….Hear me, O Lord, for YOUR LOVINGKINDNESS is good; Turn to me according to the MULTITUDE OF YOUR TENDER MERCIES…Remember, O Lord, Your TENDER MERCIES and YOUR LOVING-KINDNESSES, For they are from of old.

Psalm 40:11; 145:9 – Do not withhold Your TENDER MERCIES from me, O Lord; Let Your LOVINGKINDNESS and YOUR TRUTH continually preserve me… The Lord is good to all, And His TENDER MERCIES are over all His works.

Lamentations 3:32; Exodus 20:6  – Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion according to the MULTITUDE OF HIS MERCIES…

Psalm 5:7 – …as for me, I will come into Your house in the MULTITUDE OF YOUR MERCY; In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.

Isaiah 63:7 – I will mention the LOVING-KINDNESSES of the Lord and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, and the GREAT GOODNESS toward the house of Israel, which He has bestowed on them according to HIS MERCIES, according to the MULTITUDE OF HIS LOVING-KINDNESSES.

GOD’S MERCY AND BLESSINGS TO THE NATIONS – PSALM 67

Psalm 67:1 – GOD BE MERCIFUL TO US and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, Selah That YOUR WAY may be known on earth, Your salvation among ALL NATIONS. ³ Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. ⁴ Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall JUDGE the people RIGHTEOUSLY, and govern the NATIONS on earth. Selah ⁵ Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. ⁶ Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. ⁷ God shall bless us,and ALL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH shall fear Him.

Psalm 44:26 – Arise for our help, and redeem us for YOUR MERCIES’ sake.

Psalm 59:10; 62:12 – My GOD OF MERCY shall come to meet me; God shall let me see my desire on my enemies…Also to You, O Lord, belongs MERCY; For You render to each one according to his work.

Psalm 86:5,13 – You, Lord, are GOOD, and READY TO FORGIVE, and ABUNDANT IN MERCY to all those who call upon You… GREAT IS YOUR MERCY toward me, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

Psalm 98:3; Psalm 100:5 – He has remembered HIS MERCY and HIS FAITHFULNESS to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God… For the Lord is GOOD; HIS MERCY is everlasting, And HIS TRUTH endures to all generations.

Psalm 102:13; Psalm 103:11 – YOU WILL ARISE AND HAVE MERCY on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come… For as the heavens are high above the earth, so GREAT IS HIS MERCY toward those who fear Him;

Psalm 119:64 – The earth, O Lord, is full of YOUR MERCY; Teach me Your statutes.

Psalm 130:7; 138:8; 145:8 – O Israel, hope in the Lord For with the Lord there is MERCY, And with Him is abundant redemption… The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; YOUR MERCY, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands…The Lord is GRACIOUS and FULL OF COMPASSION, slow to anger and GREAT IN MERCY

Psalm 147:11 – The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in HIS MERCY.

Isaiah 30:18; 49:10 – Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have MERCY on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him…They shall neither hunger nor thirst, Neither heat nor sun shall strike them; For He who has MERCY on them will lead them, even by the springs of water He will guide them.

Micah 7:18 – Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He DELIGHTS IN MERCY.

Romans 9:15,16,18,23 – He says to Moses, “I WILL HAVE MERCY on whomever I WILL HAVE MERCY, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.”…  it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows MERCY. Therefore, He has MERCY on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens… that He might make known the riches of His glory on the VESSELS OF MERCY, which He had prepared beforehand for glory…

THE LORD’S EVERLASTING COVENANT OF MERCY

Isaiah 55:3; 54:7,8,10 – Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an EVERLASTING COVENANT with you— The SURE MERCIES of David.  …with GREAT MERCIES I will gather you… With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But WITH EVERLASTING KINDNESS I WILL HAVE MERCY on you,” Says the Lord, your Redeemer… For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My COVENANT OF PEACE be removed,” Says the Lord, who has MERCY on you.

Psalm 106:45 – for their sake He remembered HIS COVENANT, And relented according to the MULTITUDE OF HIS MERCIES.

I Kings 8:23 –  “Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who KEEP YOUR COVENANT AND MERCY with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.

Daniel 9:4,9 – I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who KEEPS HIS COVENANT AND MERCY with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments,… To the Lord our God belong MERCY AND FORGIVENESS, though we have rebelled against Him.

Nehemiah 1:5 – “I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your COVENANT AND MERCY with those who love You and observe Your commandments

Nehemiah 9:31, 32 – in Your GREAT MERCY You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL…“Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and awesome God, Who KEEPS COVENANT AND MERCY: Do not let all the trouble seem small before You that has come upon us… 

Psalm 25:10 – All the paths of the Lord are MERCY AND TRUTH, to such as keep HIS COVENANT and His testimonies.

Proverbs 16:6 – In MERCY AND TRUTH atonement is provided for iniquity; 

Luke 1:72,78 – To perform the MERCY promised to our fathers and to remember HIS HOLY COVENANT… Through the TENDER MERCY of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us…

IT IS GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS TO BE MERCIFUL

Proverbs 11:17 – The MERCIFUL MAN does good for his own soul, But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.

Matthew 5:7 – Blessed are the MERCIFUL, for they shall obtain MERCY.

Luke 6:36 – Therefore BE MERCIFUL, just as YOUR FATHER ALSO IS MERCIFUL.

Psalm 37:21 – …THE RIGHTEOUS SHOWS MERCY and gives.

Isaiah 57:1 – …MERCIFUL MEN are taken away… while no one considers that the RIGHTEOUS is taken away from evil.

Proverbs 3:3; 14:31 – Let not MERCY AND TRUTH forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart… He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has MERCY on the needy.

Proverbs 21:21 – He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.

Proverbs 20:28 – MERCY AND TRUTH preserve the king, and by LOVING-KINDNESS he upholds his throne.

Daniel 4:27 – O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by being RIGHTEOUS, and your iniquities by showing MERCY to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.”

Hosea 6:6,8 (see Matthew 9:13)-  I DESIRE MERCY and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings… He has shown you, O man, what is GOOD; And what does the Lord require of you but to DO JUSTLY, to LOVE MERCY, And to WALK HUMBLY with your God?

Zechariah 7:9 – “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Execute true justice, SHOW MERCY and compassion everyone to his brother.

Matthew 23:23 – “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: JUSTICE and MERCY and FAITH. These YOU OUGHT TO HAVE DONE, without leaving the others undone.

Luke 10:36,37 – So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”³⁷ And he said, “HE WHO SHOWED MERCY on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “GO AND DO LIKEWISE.”

SHOW MERCY CHEERFULLY

Romans 12:8 – he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who SHOWS MERCY, WITH CHEERFULNESS.

MERCY TO THE MERCIFUL

2 Samuel 22:26; Psalm 18:25 – “With the MERCIFUL You will show Yourself MERCIFUL; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless…

MERCY EXTENDED TO THE HUMBLE

Luke 18:13-14 – …the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, BE MERCIFUL to me a sinner!’ ¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and HE WHO HUMBLES HIMSELF will be exalted.”

• Special note – As it relates to our “RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTS A NATION” theme, the extension of GOD’S MERCY to those who HUMBLE THEMSELVES before Him brings EXALTATION.

MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT

James 2:13 – For JUDGMENT IS WITHOUT MERCY to the one who has shown NO MERCY. MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT.

THE LORD WAS MERCIFUL TO LOT

Genesis 19:16 – And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being MERCIFUL to him (Lot), and they brought him out and set him outside the city.

MOSES’S PLEA FOR MERCY – THE LORD SHOWS HIM HIS MERCY

Numbers 14:19 – Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of YOUR MERCY, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”²⁰ Then the Lord said: “I have pardoned, according to your word; ²¹ but truly, as I live, ALL THE EARTH SHALL BE FILLED WITH THE GLORY OF THE LORD— 

• Special note: Because of GOD’S GREAT MERCIES we can expect ALL NATIONS to experience the GLORY OF THE LORD!

Exodus 33:19; 34:6 – … And he said, I will make all MY GOODNESS pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show MERCY on whom I will shew MERCY…. And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, MERCIFUL and the Lord God, gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, ⁷ KEEPING MERCY for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty…

ISRAELITES IN THE WILDERNESS

Nehemiah 9:17,19,27-28,31 – They refused to obey, and they were not mindful of Your wonders that You did among them. But they hardened their necks, and in their rebellion they appointed a leader to return to their bondage. But You are God, ready to pardon, GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL, slow to anger, ABUNDANT IN KINDNESS, and did not forsake them… in Your MANIFOLD MERCIES You did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day, to lead them on the road; Nor the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way they should go... according to Your abundant mercies You gave them deliverers who saved them from the hand of their enemies…when they returned and cried out to You, You heard from heaven; And many times You delivered them according to YOUR MERCIES… in Your GREAT MERCY You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL.

PRAYERS FOR MERCY

Hebrews 4:16 – Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may OBTAIN MERCY and find grace to help in time of need.

Daniel 9:18 – O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations… for we do not present our supplications before You because of our RIGHTEOUS DEEDS, but BECAUSE OF YOUR GREAT MERCIES.

Psalm 26:11; 41:4; 56:1; 57:1 – But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; Redeem me and BE MERCIFUL to me… I said, “Lord, BE MERCIFUL to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”… BE MERCIFUL to me, O God, for man would swallow me up; Fighting all day he oppresses me… BE MERCIFUL to me, O God, BE MERCIFUL to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by.

Psalm 51:1; 69:16 – Have MERCY upon me, O God, According to YOUR LOVING-KINDNESS; According to the MULTITUDE OF YOUR TENDER MERCIES, blot out my transgressions…Hear me, O Lord, for YOUR LOVINGKINDNESS IS GOOD; Turn to me according to the MULTITUDE OF YOUR TENDER MERCIES.

PRAISE GOD FOR HIS MERCY

Psalm 89:1; 101:1 – I will sing of the MERCIES OF THE LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations… I will sing of MERCY AND JUSTICE; To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.

Psalm 23:6 – Surely GOODNESS AND MERCY shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

Psalm 59:16,17; 59:17  – I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of YOUR MERCY in the morning; For You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble… I will sing praises; For God is my defense, My GOD OF MERCY.

Romans 15:9 – that the Gentiles might glorify God for HIS MERCY, as it is written: “For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name.”

THE MERCY SEAT

Exodus 25:1-2; 30:6  – You shall put the MERCY SEAT on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. ²² And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the MERCY SEAT… you shall put it before the veil that is before the ark of the Testimony, before the MERCY SEAT that is over the Testimony, where I will meet with you.

MERCY UPON THOSE WHO TRULY REPENT

Proverbs 28:13 – He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever CONFESSES AND FORSAKES THEM will have MERCY.

Isaiah 49:13; 55:7 – Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, and will have MERCY on His afflicted… Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him RETURN TO THE LORD, And He will have MERCY on him; And to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

Isaiah 60:10 – For in My wrath I struck you, but in My favor I have had MERCY on you.

Jeremiah 33:26 – For I will cause their captives to return, and will have MERCY on them.’ ”

Hosea 2:23 – Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have MERCY on her who had not obtained MERCY; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’ ”

Matthew 9:13; 12:7 – But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire MERCY and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to REPENTANCE.”… if you had known what this means, ‘I desire MERCY and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.

WE CAN TRUST IN THE MERCIES OF GOD FOREVER

Psalm 52:8 – I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I TRUST in the MERCY OF GOD forever and ever.

GOD’S MERCY HELPS US NOT TO LOSE HEART

2 Corinthians 4:1 – Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have RECEIVED MERCY, we do not lose heart.

BECAUSE OF GOD’S MERCIES LET’S GIVE LIVING, HOLY SACRIFICES OF PRAISE

Romans 12:1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the MERCIES OF GOD, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

GOD’S MERCIES UPON HIS PEOPLE

Galatians 6:16 –  as many as walk according to this rule (crucified to the world and a new creation), PEACE AND MERCY be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

Philippians 2:27 – For indeed he (Epaphroditus) was sick almost unto death; but GOD HAD MERCY on him…

I Timothy 1:2 (2 Timothy 1:2 ) – Grace, MERCY, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

I Timothy 1:13,16 – although I (Paul) was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained MERCY because I did it ignorantly in unbelief… However, for this reason I obtained MERCY, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.

I Peter 2:10 – …who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained MERCY but NOW HAVE OBTAINED MERCY.

Jude 1:2 – MERCY, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

IT’S BECAUSE OF GOD’S LOVE AND MERCIES THAT WE CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE

Jude 1:21 – …keep yourselves in the LOVE OF GOD, looking for the MERCY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST UNTO ETERNAL LIFE.
